We aim to deliver within 7-14 working days, however this does depend on your delivery location. If we think your delivery might take a little longer than normal, we’ll let you know directly via email.
If you purchase an item that is out of stock, we’ll liaise with you personally about when we expect to be able to dispatch your purchase.

Once your order has been placed, you’ll receive a confirmation email which will included a unique reference number. When we dispatch your order, we’ll email you again, this time with information regarding your tracking number, and when you can expect to receive your delivery.
You can use your unique reference number and/or tracking number to follow the progress of your order with us via the contact page.
We’re sorry you’re still awaiting the arrival of your Kat van Duinen purchase. Please email us via the contact page and we’ll be in touch as soon as possible.
We only accept returns on items that are damaged or faulty, returned within 7 days of receipt. Returned items must be returned in their original condition, including all their packaging and tags, in order to be accepted.
If you return an item to us and we agree that your purchase was not sent to you in the right condition, we will refund the cost of your purchase and the shipping costs you incurred to return the item to us. If, however, we do not believe your item to have been faulty, we will not offer a refund nor will we assist with the return-shipping fees.
Garments that do not fit may be exchanged, however the cost of delivery to return will be for your account. If you are able to return items to our flagship boutique in Cape Town yourself, you are welcome to do so. Garments should also be returned in their original condition, including all tags and packaging.
Please note that we do not accept returns on sale items or personalized items at all. Returns and/or refunds are also not offered if you are unable to pay the relevant customs charges to release the delivery in your country. Unless an item is faulty, returns or exchanges will only result in store credit.
Important – returns on any exotic-leather items: In order to return such items, strict paperwork must be applied for and received to move exotic-leather pieces across borders. If you wish to return an exotic-leather piece, you must first contact [email protected] so that Kat van Duinen can assist with certification for the item to be legally returned back to South Africa. Kat van Duinen accepts no liability and will not refund any loss or damage incurred by yourself for goods destroyed, seized or confiscated by customs should you fail to follow this process. We try to add new stock as often as possible, but please do appreciate that luxury pieces created by hand can take some time to complete.
If you would like to be notified when a piece you love is back in stock, simply register as a user and add the product to your wish list. We’ll email you when it’s back in stock!
The answer is in our craft process – due to the way some pieces are constructed, it is not possible to add embossing after the product has been created. We will only offer personalised embossing on leather goods when the embossing process does not compromise the quality and aesthetic of the piece itself.
Kat van Duinen offers couture, however prospective clients should be aware that we recommend you are available for fittings in person if possible (Kat van Duinen is based in Cape Town).
